As part of a Dove Masterbrand initiative, we created product and service offerings based on Dove's Real Beauty proposition. Our favourite innovation was the concept of an intuitive, data-driven compact mirror. Yes, this checked your ‘outer beauty’. But, crucially, it also gave women a window into their ‘inner beauty’ too.
Key to this was a clever use of data. From electrodermal activity, health trackers and blood oxygen levels right through to familiar social feeds and online activity, a magnitude of material fulfilled our proposition: control and awareness of outer and inner beauty. Timely suggestions to call mum, playing that song, or contacting a friend whose inner beauty reading was low - everything created a community of women. A community whose lives balanced three core ‘beauty pillars’: mind, body and soul.
